Abstract

This work is an advance of a major research project entitled “Psychology in the territory: a local approach on institutional knowledge, practices and frameworks in the care and work processes of psychology in the field of public health in Santiago del del Santiago del del Santiago del del Santiago del del Santiago del del Santiago del del Santiago del Santiago Estero (2022-2023) ”developed within the framework of a call made by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Catholic University of Santiago del Estero. It aims to analyze the interventions of psychology professionals in their public health work processes with an approach located, characterizing the training processes that support them, the practices that are built from the articulation between training, the processes of the processes of Public health work and the dynamics of the institutional context in which they develop. In this sense, it seeks to summarize and analyze scientific literature related to the subject, based on a question about knowing the main characteristics of the work of the psychology professional in the field of public health in Latin America. The results allow to identify convergences in the background referred to the distance between the theoretical-methodological contents of the training in psychology and the training that the public health work processes require; And on the other hand, that the dynamics of public health work are, many times, confusing regarding disciplinary relevance. The relevance of this research lies in building a review of the categories that predominate in the characterization of the work processes in Public Health Psychology, whose findings allow to contribute to the analysis of these work dynamics and their relationship with the processes of professional training, to The discussion about the categories and concepts used and to the review of implemented training proposals.
