Abstract

The training process of a professional is developed with a view to prepare a subject who is able to be inserted in the professional process. The training of a specialist in Ophthalmology is of special significance since, within the medical sciences, it is the specialty whose object of the profession is the process of visual health. The purpose of this research was to design a pedagogical conception of the training process of professional skills in the specialty of Ophthalmology at the University of Medical Sciences of Pinar del Río. A pedagogical conception of the professional skills training process in the specialty of Ophthalmology was designed, conformed by a system of scientific ideas oriented by the principles of sequential and contextualized character, which are the basis of the professional skills training process in the specialty of Ophthalmology, in order to make it systemic, sequenced and contextualized; which enables the acquisition of professional skills and enhances the mastery of the ophthalmologist's mode of action.
