A descriptive, longitudinal, prospective study was carried out in the population who attended multidisciplinary Thyroid consultation and who presented diagnosis of nodular thyroid disease in the Municipality of Pinar del Río. In the period from December 2019 to June 2022, where the histological and ultrasound correlation of thyroid nodules was evaluated using the TI-RADS classification and variables such as age, skin color, sex, ultrasound characteristics of the nodules were defined. The universe was constituted by patients who attended the multidisciplinary thyroid consultation and the sample was intentional, represented by a total of 109 patients who met the inclusion criteria. The results obtained were presented in tables and graphs from which statistical tests of percentage (descriptive statistics) were performed. The results showed that: the predominant age was 51-60 years, white skin color and female sex. Benign nodules predominated in the patients according to their size. The most prevalent characteristic suggestive of malignancy was hypoechogenicity of the nodules. In the distribution of patients according to TIRADS and Bethesda, grade 2 predominated in both, prevailing nodules with low suspicion of malignancy. It was concluded that from the correlation findings, it was determined that the TIRADS/BETHESDA ratio for diagnosing nodules suspicious of benignity coincided in its totality, and only in half for nodules suspicious of malignancy.
